COUNSELLING & PSYCHOTHERAPY IN FINCHLEY AND ONLINE

Welcome

Sometimes in life we face problems that can feel just too big to manage alone

About me

I am passionate about counselling and talking therapies, and I believe in their transformative power to improve people's lives. My extensive training and qualifications, including a BACP-approved Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling, enable me to work effectively with both adults and children.

As a therapist I value the opportunity to expand my skills and knowledge and I have completed extensive continued professional development in a range of areas including bereavement, anxiety, trauma, self harm, eating disorders, homelessness, substance misuse, mindfulness, and creative approaches to working with both children and adults.

I recognise the importance of keeping up to date with the latest research and findings in mental health and integrating this knowledge into my therapeutic practice to ensure it remains informed and effective.

In addition to my private practice, I work as a Palliative Care and Bereavement Counsellor in a Hospice and hold an Accreditation in Bereavement. I have a wide range of experience working with both adults and children in a range of settings. This has included working for Cruse Bereavement and supporting people who have been bereaved, long term trauma work in a homeless shelter, solution focussed work with both adults and young people in a psychotherapy agency, and working with young people in a large multi cultural North London Secondary School.

Before training to be a counsellor I worked in both the corporate and charity sectors. I have a wealth of professional and personal life experience that has shaped me as an individual and has equipped me with an understanding of life's difficulties and challenges. I value the importance of fairness, embracing difference and diversity, and treating everyone as equals regardless of background, culture, or gender.

My integrative approach incorporates a range of therapeutic models, including:

Person-Centred Therapy: a non-judgmental, empathetic, and supportive environment where you can explore your feelings and thoughts.

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Helping you identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviours to improve emotional regulation and develop personal coping strategies.

Psychodynamic Therapy: Exploring the influence of the unconscious mind and past experiences on your current behaviour and emotional state.

Gestalt Therapy: Focusing on the present moment and enhancing self-awareness and self-acceptance through experiential exercises.

Transactional Analysis (TA): Examining interactions and communications to understand and improve your relationships and self-awareness.

By combining a range of modalities with a creative approach, I can offer a holistic therapeutic experience, aimed at helping you achieve your personal goals and enhancing your well-being.
