COUNSELLING & PSYCHOTHERAPY IN FINCHLEY, GOLDERS GREEN,

AND NATIONWIDE ONLINE

Welcome

Sometimes in life we face problems that can feel just too big to manage alone

About me

In addition to my private practice, I have a broad and diverse background in supporting both adults and young people across a variety of settings.

I have worked as a Palliative Care and Bereavement Counsellor for Rennie Grove Peace Hospice, providing compassionate support to families and patients in the community, as well as offering end-of-life support within the Inpatient Unit.

My experience also includes long-term trauma work at DENS homeless shelter, solution-focused therapy at the North London Psychotherapy agency, and counselling young people as a Place2Be therapist in a large, multicultural secondary school.

This wide ranging experience has allowed me to develop a holistic approach to therapy, addressing a wide range of emotional and psychological needs.

My extensive training and qualifications, include a BACP-approved Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling and continued professional development training in a range of areas including anxiety, bereavement, family estrangement, attachment, trauma, self harm, eating disorders, homelessness, substance misuse, mindfulness, and creative approaches to working with both young people and adults.

I have volunteered and completed extensive bereavement training and accreditation with Cruse Bereavement, a charity that supports bereaved individuals in the UK.

I recognise the importance of keeping up to date with the latest research and findings in mental health and integrating this knowledge into my therapeutic practice to ensure it remains informed and effective.

Before training to be a counsellor I worked in both the corporate and charity sectors. I have a wealth of professional and personal life experience that has shaped me as an individual and has equipped me with an understanding of life's difficulties and challenges. I value the importance of fairness, embracing difference and diversity, and treating everyone as equals regardless of background, culture, or gender.

My integrative approach incorporates a range of therapeutic models, including:

Person-Centred Therapy: a non-judgmental, empathetic, and supportive environment where you can explore your feelings and thoughts.

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Helping you identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviours to improve emotional regulation and develop personal coping strategies.

Psychodynamic Therapy: Exploring the influence of the unconscious mind and past experiences on your current behaviour and emotional state.

Gestalt Therapy: Focusing on the present moment and enhancing self-awareness and self-acceptance through experiential exercises.

Transactional Analysis (TA): Examining interactions and communications to understand and improve your relationships and self-awareness.

By combining a range of modalities with a creative approach, I can offer a holistic therapeutic experience, aimed at helping you achieve your personal goals and enhancing your well-being.
